This school year is going to be unlike any school year we (or our kids) have ever experienced.  I know many people, including myself, are pretty much dreading it. Right now, everyone is full of uncertainties of what is "right" to do vs what is "wrong" and what is true vs what is made up.  Up until last year my oldest LOVED school, it was his escape from the chaos that is his younger brothers. We recently got our schools plan for this year and he will be going two half days at school then three days virtually, unless we choose to have him go 100% virtually. Along with this crazy schedule, we were informed the students will not be eating lunches at school.  After going over everything with my son he was completely bummed out to say the least.

Luckily for us, I had this opportunity from our sponsors at NABISCO, Danimals, and Horizon Organic Milk to "Craft Your Lunch" and make lunch at home fun for my kids! Together we explored new ways to craft our lunch and provide a balanced meal, while shopping for all our return to school needs at Target. Join us to make lunch exciting and fun using NABISCO Multipack Snacks, Danimals, and Horizon Organic Milk!

I know that crafting a lunch may sound somewhat time consuming or even imitating for some but our sponsors have may it so simple that even your kids can do it by using this printable guide.

After printing out our guide we made our shopping list, headed off to Target, and got to shopping. Be sure to check out Circle offers through the Target App for savings.

Once we got home my boys were ready to eat and excited to start crafting. I was just excited they actually wanted to help make their own lunch! My oldest decided he wanted to make an "Aloha Summer" lunch because he just learned that not only does "Aloha" mean hello but also goodbye. My middle one is on a big dinosaur kick so of course he NEEDED a Jurassic lunch.  Even though I ended up making two lunches (as usual) lunchtime in general went SO much smoother. The boys loved being allowed to pick out their own items and I loved how easy and convenient the NABISCO and Dannon products made putting it all together.

If you're like me and sometimes have troubles thinking of creative ways to make lunch a little more exciting check out these fun ideas!

After lunch was done for the day and I was cleaning up, my oldest actually came in and gave me a hug.  He then told me "may be this year won't be so bad". This really brought tears to my eyes how something so simple made his day. So remember, although we as parents are stressed about what's happening this school year, our kids are also feeling it but luckily sometimes all it takes is a fun crafty lunch to make their day and put a smile back on their faces!

Macaroni Kid is proud to partner with NABISCO, Danimals, and Horizon Organic Milk for this campaign.  All opinions are my own.
