Welcome to the Gloucester Area Library Museum Pass Guide! This guide provides an overview of the libraries in the Gloucester area and the museum passes they offer. Use this resource to plan your next family museum trip with ease!
How do the Museum Passes work?
- Grants free access for a certain number of visitors to that museum
- Checks out just like a book, but for one week
- Available on a first come, first served basis
Museum Pass Rules:
- Museum passes can be checked out for one (1) week, and cannot be renewed.
- Museum passes are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be placed on hold or held for patrons.
- Only GCLS adult cardholders may check out a museum pass.
- GCLS adult cardholders are only able to check out one (1) Museum Pass at a time.
- Museum passes are not transferable, and can only be used by the person who has checked out the pass on their GCLS library card.
- A $5.00 late fee will be charged to your account for each day the pass is overdue.
- Museum Passes must be returned in their issued cases to the GCLS Branch Library in which it was checked out.
- If for any reason the pass is not returned within 21 days of the due date, the full replacement cost of the pass will be charged to your account.

Borrowing Museum Passes
All adult Deptford Free Public Library card-holders in good-standing, without any fines or overdue materials on their accounts, are eligible to check out our passes.
Families may check out only one pass at a time. All passes circulate for a period of three days.
Passes may not be renewed, and overdue fees and fees for lost passes will be strictly enforced. Patrons will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the passes if they are lost.
Passes are available all year round. Passes are available on a first-come first served basis. Availability is not guaranteed.

The Museum Pass program provides customers the opportunity to visit a variety of attractions and enjoy the beautiful arts, culture, and education that our area has to offer. This program is sponsored by the library and the various Friends groups associated with each location.
How to Borrow a Pass
To borrow a pass simply visit the Circulation Desk at Gill Memorial Library. Only adult Gill Memorial Library cardholders in good standing (a current card with less than $10 in fines) may check out one pass at a time. Patrons must use their own library card when checking out a pass. The library staff reserves the right to limit the number of times cardholders may borrow passes due to demand and availability.
To borrow a pass you must sign a Museum Pass Agreement which will walk you through everything you need to know.
How long do I have a pass?
Passes can be checked out for four days at a time and may not be renewed. The late fee will be $10 per day, up to $50. On the fifth day, the cardholder will be billed for the full cost of the pass, plus the $50 fine. Passes may not be placed on hold or held for patrons.
They are available first come, first served. Passes must be returned to staff at the circulation desk of the Gill Memorial Library and may not be placed in the book return. Any passes placed in the book return will be considered one day late and a $10 fee will be charged to the patron’s account.
How to return your pass
To return your pass simply visit the Circulation Desk at Gill Memorial Library. Passes cannot be returned anywhere else. You should not leave it in the blue drop box or return to another library or they will be considered late and late fees will apply. Cardholders will be charged the full cost of the pass if the pass is lost, damaged, or destroyed.
Cardholders must sign an agreement before checking out a pass. Cardholders who lose, damage, or destroy a pass, or violate the terms of the agreement in any other manner, may be barred from borrowing passes in the future.

MUSEUM PASSES
The Library is offering a museum pass program as part of its mission to provide educational, professional, cultural and recreational information and services.
Who can check out a Monroe Township Library museum pass?
Monroe Township adult cardholders (ages 18 years and older) in good standing (no overdue materials and less than $10.00 in fines) are eligible to check out our Museum passes. Only one museum pass may be borrowed at a time per family. Cardholders must sign a loan agreement before checking out the pass.
Where can I pick up a pass?
All passes must be picked up at the Monroe Township Public Library Circulation Desk.
Where can I return a pass?
All passes must be returned only to the Monroe Township Public Library Circulation Desk. Please hand the plastic case directly to a staff member, and be sure that the pass is returned with the case. Museum passes cannot be returned via the inside or outside book drop, or to any other library.
Can I reserve a pass for pick-up?
No. Passes are strictly on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be reserved or held for a patron.
How long can I keep a pass?
A museum pass may be checked out for 4 days and is not renewable.
What if I don't return the pass on time?
A late fee of $5.00 per day will apply, up to the full cost of the museum pass.
What if I lose the museum pass or it is stolen, damaged or mutilated?
The patron on whose library card the pass has been borrowed is responsible for the full replacement cost of the pass. (The cost of the pass varies by museum.) There is a $3.00 fee for loss or damage of the case.

Each museum determines the rules and regulations governing the use of its Museum Pass. The Museum Pass may not provide admission to all exhibits at the museum. Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art
Admits four (4) guests, adults or children, to the museum. Also provides access to the Laurels and Waterloo Mills Preserves (check brandywine.org for hours and directions). Present pass at the Visitor Services desk.
Winter Hours (January 9–March 31): Open Wednesday–Monday, 10am–4pm (Closed Tuesdays)
Regular Hours (April 1–November 22): Open Wednesday–Monday, 9:30am–4:30pm (Closed Tuesdays)

Eastern State Penitentiary
Admits six (6) people per visit for daytime general admission. Eastern State is not recommended for children under the age of seven. Although there is no programing for children under the age of seven, they are welcome to visit and their admission is complimentary. General admission includes “The Voices of Eastern State” audio tour, history exhibits and artist installations. Please note: Photographers using a tripod must purchase an equipment pass for an additional fee of $10. No portrait photography is permitted during public hours.
Open Wednesday – Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. The last entry is at 4 pm, but most visitors spend about two hours on site. Admission is untimed. Eastern State is open rain or shine, and the building does not have climate control. Please dress for the weather, and be sure to wear appropriate footwear.
Museum passes are not valid for Terror Behind the Walls, discounts in the museum store, special events, facility rentals or paranormal investigations.

Magic Gardens
Provides free general admission for two (2) adults and up to three (3) children per visit, discounted admission for up to six (6) additional guests, and free admission and discounts to over 750 other arts, cultural, and historical institutions with North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM) and Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM).
Open every day except Tuesday, 11am to 6pm. Hours may vary due to special events. Please visit their Calendar for updated general admission hours. Last admission 15 minutes before closing, and all visitors must exit promptly upon closing.

The Woodbury Public Library has a Museum Pass program which allows adult cardholders who reside in Woodbury to check out passes for free admission to one of several local institutions. Currently, we circulate passes to:
- The Gloucester County Historical Society’s Hunter-Lawrence-Jessup House Museum, as well as the Historical Society’s research library (Woodbury, NJ)
- The Academy of Natural Sciences (Philadelphia, PA)
- Independence Seaport Museum (Philadelphia, PA)
